The one-year German Government Bavarian Scholarship program encourages academic and scientific contact between Bavaria and Central, Eastern, and Southeastern Europe.
The Bavarian Government Scholarship supports foreign full-time students pursuing diploma and master’s degrees.
The scholarship is meant to support postgraduate studies (Master’s degrees), PhDs, or one-year research stays at a state or state-funded higher education institution in Bavaria.
Bavarian Scholarship Requirements
- Enroll as full-time students or double-degree students (not possible for transfer students) at the Hochschule Hof University of Applied Sciences for the respective semester.
- have academically (based on prior examination results) and personally qualified. Foreign students enrolling in bachelor courses must have completed at least 90 ECTS to be considered eligible.
- To be in financial need.
- For the coming school year 2025/26, the Free State of Bavaria will again give one-year scholarships to graduates (with valid citizenship) from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.

The Bavarian Scholarships offer financial assistance to international students at Hochschule Hof to pay additional living and study expenses, in addition to tuition-free coverage from German higher education institutions.
The scholarship is worth €934 every month, or €11.208 per year. Students with at least one kid receive €1.094 each month, which adds up to €13.128 per year.
